Development of Super Durable Hard Coat Film

Chisso Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Shunichi Okada) has developed a Super Durable Hard Coat Film with long lasting abrasion-resistance. From July 2009, Chisso will introduce this film such as to Touch Panel industry where long lasting abrasion-resistance is highly demanded.

 

With the increasing demand of Touch Panels such as for office appliances and mobile phones, more scratch resistance and durability is demanded for the Hard Coat Films used for Touch Panel surfaces.

The Hard Coat Film Chisso recently developed has tens times durability compared to the previous Chisso films and it is confirmed to show the almost the same original optical performances after 1kg loaded 5,000 times steel wool abrasion testing, which is a very tough testing condition. 

Further, with Chisso`s original know-how, water and oil repellency, antifouling, anti-fingerprint properties can be added to the above Hard Coat films. Chisso is able to control these properties according to the customers`  requests.

 

Chisso will expand its variety of functional films in addition to the Super Durable Hard Coat Film and introduce these films on the market
