Chisso always makes the first step
The corporate history of Chisso reflects the history of Japanese chemical industry. Since its foundation in 1906, Chisso has continuously developed original techniques, as exemplified by the fact that the company successfully developed the worlds first synthetic ammonia using the Casale process in 1923, and commenced the production of polyvinyl chloride resin in 1941, followed by Japan's first production of octanol, DOP, high analysis compound fertilizers and ultrapure metal silicon. Chisso has been playing a leading role in Japanese chemical industry.
DNA of our founding president
The driving force of Chisso has been its potential of R&D to understand the trend of the times, immediately find the techniques and products to be required for the next generation, and realize new ideas in the production of original techniques and products. Our potential of R&D has been highly evaluated and therefore our company is called "Chisso of Technique." Our active and challenging researchers and technical experts have taken DNA from the founding president Shitagau Noguchi, who was one of the pioneers of Japanese chemical industry.
Growing more "seeds for the future"
Chisso has accumulated enormous technical information and R&D know-how during its history of more than one century. Chisso is changing into an advanced chemical company with a focus put on the global environment, highly networked information and life chemicals. We will continue to challenge new developments with the pride as the pioneer of Japanese chemical industry, while assessing and growing the "seeds" for the future society.
