Chisso Corporation (president: Shunichi Okada, head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) will launch full-scale sales of the Collagen Peptide "trade name: Marine Collagen Oligo" serving for a health food material and a cosmetics material in the beginning of the year 2005.
"Marine Collagen Oligo" is the collagen peptide extracted from scales of fish and enzymatic degraded. "Marine Collagen Oligo" is a high purity and high-quality collagen peptide produced by significantly removing characteristic taste and smell of fish by performing advanced purification using the "scales" of fish carefully selected. As compared with conventional products, the average molecular weight is as small as about 1,000, and the size of molecular weight is excellent for digestion and absorption in stomach or intestines. Although the molecular weight is small, the product has no bitterness. Furthermore, a degree of distributing the molecular weights is sharp to show 1.8 - 2.1. The peptide has more uniform molecular weight distribution as compared with the former.
