Completion of New Research Building in Goi Factory Acceleration of Development of Electronic Information Display Materials

Chisso Corporation (President: Shunichi Okada, Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) has recently completed a new research building under construction in Goi Factory of Chisso Petrochemical Corporation (Ichihara-shi, Chiba prefecture). The new research building is an all 2-storied building with the building area of approximately 1,200 m², and the total floor space of approximately 2,400 m². Almost all the first story is provided with clean rooms.

Chisso Corporation has undertaken the task of reorganization of research and development system since last fiscal year. As a part of the task, development of electronic information display materials dispersed in Kanagawa and Chiba has been concentrated in Chiba. The new research building has been constructed in order to promote the concentration of the functions and the reinforcement of the collaboration. This new research building is aimed at securing a clean research environment, simultaneously introducing various up-to-date evaluation equipments to improve evaluation accuracy, and promoting development in the field of electronic information display materials.

The market of liquid crystal display (LCD) has continued to annually grow at two digits, and a continuous growth of demand is expected with centering on a large-screen liquid crystal TV and the monitor.
