"CHISSO CHINA Co., Ltd.", New Sales Base in China, Launched Operation

Chisso Corporation (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President: Shunichi Okada) has established a new company by the name of "CHISSO CHINA Co., Ltd." as a new front company toward the ever-expanding Chinese market and has launched operation.

Our company established "Chisso Hong Kong Limited" in 1990 as a business base in the Chinese market. As for manufacturing bases, "Shanghai Jin Chang Engineering Plastics Co., Ltd." (production of polypropylene compounds), a joint venture with "Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd." and "Itochu Corporation", and "Gangzhou ES Fiber Co., Ltd." (production of ES Fiber: thermo-bondable bi-component fiber), a joint venture with "Itochu Corporation", were respectively established in 1994 and our company has facilitated the business development in the Chinese market.

Among the still ever-expanding Chinese market, the business development especially in Shanghai and Jiangsu is remarkably achieved and involvement of foreign-affiliated companies centering on electronic materials has been further increased.

Under the circumstances, "CHISSO CHINA Co., Ltd." has recently been established and a full-scale sales operation has been started on July 1 with aiming at expanding sales of liquid crystal and its peripheral materials as our strong area in mainland China, and promoting importation and sales of Chisso group related products, procuring raw materials, licensing and engineering activities, and others.

In the meantime, because "Chisso Hong Kong Ltd." which has been operated as a sales base to mainland China has fulfilled its initial mission, it will be dissolved in order that a better organization may be formed aiming within this year by taking over its all business into the new company.
